PROJECT REPORT

ALKALINE COPPER ETCHING

    THE CHALLENGE

    EFFLORESCENT MEDIA

After a brief run time of approximately 2–3 months, non-armoured plastic centrifugal pumps experienced casing leaks (efflorescence of the pumped liquid). A renowned manufacturer of printed circuit boards depends on a reliable pump with a long operating life to avoid costly production downtime.

    THE STÜBBE SOLUTION

FULLY METALLIC CHAMBERED CHEMICAL CENTRIFUGAL PUMP IN PLASTIC

Because plastic has a linear expansion about 10 times higher than metal in the event of temperature fluctuations, a STÜBBE X-CLASS process centrifugal pump with close metallic casing was selected, which does not allow almost any deformation of the plastic parts. All of the important O-rings have a chambered design in order to guarantee the best possible leak tightness, especially under alternating pressure and temperature loads.

    THE RESULT

BETTER SAFETY, LONGER OPERATING LIFE, LOWER OPERATING COSTS

There has been no pump failure and no efflorescence since the pumps were installed in January 2019.
